Ahmed Hassan is a Senior Associate in the firm’s corporate, commercial, and M&A practice with more than a decade of post-qualification experience advising high-net-worth private clients, state-owned entities, and listed and unlisted companies across the GCC and wider MENA region. He brings a unique blend of private practice and in-house experience, having previously served as senior associate at a leading regional law firm, senior legal counsel for a multinational in Egypt, and attorney at top-tier firms in Qatar and Egypt.
Ahmed’s practice spans corporate commercial, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, technology, agencies and distribution, hospitality, employment, and compliance. He is known for his commercially grounded advice and his ability to navigate complex cross-border mandates, public policy considerations, and multi-stakeholder transactions.
Experience
Ahmed regularly advises on strategic M&A and joint ventures, corporate restructuring, market entry and licensing, and day-to-day corporate governance, employment, and compliance matters. He also counsels clients on competition filings (including merger control notifications) in Egypt, Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, and on agency, franchise, and distribution structures for international brand owners in the automotive, fashion, and general retail sectors.
Beyond his corporate and commercial practice, Ahmed advises on dispute resolution, including arbitration and mediation. He holds an international diploma in Arbitration from the Africa Arbitration Academy (London, 2022) and has acted as local counsel on ICC arbitrations and DRB disputes for global engineering and construction clients under Qatar, Egypt, Kuwait and KSA laws.

• Lead counsel to an international joint venture on a USD 1 billion cross-border acquisition of a prominent telecommunications company with operations in Kuwait and Qatar.
• Lead Qatari counsel to a prominent strategic investor on investment rounds in Asia-Pacific start-ups.
• Lead counsel to international clients on joint venture collaborations with local partners for tendering and procurement.
• Advised on merger control and competition filings in Egypt, Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.
• Local lead counsel on the restructuring of a high-net-worth family company across Qatar, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.
